TAGFOCILOCIFINAL

Join TAGster skot deeming in a conversation with New York based artists Foci+Loci (Chris Burke and Tamara Yadao) for a conversation about their work on Friday October 17th, at 2pm.

About Foci+Loci:

Treating the map editors in video games as virtual sound stages, foci + loci create immersive electro-acoustic spaces with virtual instruments and timed audiovisual events. Saving and replaying digital game data, camera movement in space can be disassociated from time, changing traditional filmic relationships.

——————————————————————————————————————————————————-

Foci and Loci are visiting Montreal to perform at the inaugural edition of the TAG sponsored Salon Ludique, which is happening on Thursday Oct, 16th, at Espace Fibre.

Beyond their collaboration in Foci+Loci, Chris and Tamara’s work is largely interdisciplinary; performance, spoken word, sound art and electro-acoustics, machinima, more.  Some of you may know them as chip musicians glomag and Corset Lore. Others might recognized Chris as Damian Lacedemian, host and mastermind behind the machinima talk show This Spartan Life.

Chris and Tamara will talk about their various practices, and how they came together to create Foci+Loci. This will be less of a traditional lecture or artists’ talk; Chris and Tamara will present some of their work and their histories, and then open the floor for a casual discussion of art, games and interdisciplinarity.

We hope that you will join us!
