critical hit games collaboratory 2013

Critical Hit is a partnership between the TAG Centre at Concordia University, Dawson CEGEP and Decode Global to create a games collaboratory focused on the development of innovative experimental games motivated by contemporary social, cultural and political concerns. Its mission is to foster open communication, collaboration and creativity amongst the next generation of game designers whilst pushing the expressive potential of video games in contemporary society.

Timeline

  • Applications Accepted: March 8 to April 29
  • Teams Selected: May 1
  • Program Launch: June 15th

How It Works

  • Dates: June 17 Aug 23 (10 weeks)
  • Perks: Stipend of $2500 per person, access to computers, development software, and Hexagram Concordia infrastructure.

Selected teams will be required to participate 40 hours/week for 10 weeks. They will have access to an onsite producer and technical leader, in addition to a wide range of mentors both from academia and industry.

Fulltime availability of all team members is required for the entire duration of the collaboratory.
