5a7 – Going Next Gen: international reseach-creation and games for health

TAG is proud to invite you for a series of 5 a 7 showcasing its stellar members’ ongoing research.

This week, Graduate Student Fabio Balli, working under Milieux, will explore the intersection between healthcare and game design. How did an idea for a 6-credit game design workshop evolve into a new vision for healthcare? What did we learn from the first research protocols we realized with clinicians? How did the design of the games evolve and why? What is the purpose of the game jams and keynote speeches we host at Concordia? What experience did we gain preparing applications for CIRH, SSHRC and Google? How valuable were the presentations done at scientific congresses? What are the next steps?

In this presentation, he will build on Breathing Games, the initiative that nurtures his INDI research. After drafting the history and evolution of the initiative and research, he will open the discussion and answer questions if some emerge.
