Brie Code and Aleissia Laidacker

Brie Code wants to make games for her friends who don’t play games. Until recently, she was working at Ubisoft Montreal, where she led programming teams on Child of Light, Assassin’s Creed III, Assassin’s Creed: Brotherhood, and Assassin’s Creed II. Before that, she wrote AI, gameplay, and UI code at Relic Entertainment for the RTS games Company of Heroes and Warhammer 40k: Dawn of War. She was also a founding member of the Ubidiversity Team at Ubisoft Montreal, volunteers with Pixelles, and is part of the advisory committee for YES Montreal’s Advancing Women in STEM through Mentorship Project. Her favourite games are Gone Home, Skyrim, and the Colonel’s Bequest.

Aleissia Laidacker has been working in the programming field for 14 years with a BS in Computer Science from Concordia University with a Double Major in Digital Image Sound and The Fine Arts, where she specialized in 3D Animation. After working on various interactive installations and projects, she joined Ubisoft as an AI / Gameplay Programmer. Some of her credited games include Assassin’s Creed 2 and Assassin’s Creed Brotherhood. Aleissia was Gameplay & AI Lead on Assassin’s Creed 3. And most recently was AI Lead for the Crowds in Assassin’s Creed Unity. She is the Ubi Game Jam organizer, Pixelles mentor and active in the AI Community. Her favourite games are League of Legends and Mass Effect.
