If you are interested in becoming a graduate student working with a TAG faculty member you will need to find a graduate degree program at Concordia that fits with your interests. Along with department-specific graduate programs, however, Concordia offers two programs that are often able to accommodate more interdisciplinary research interests: the Humanities PhD and the Individualized Program at the Master’s and PhD levels.
Student membership at any level is generally established when a student is supervised by a TAG faculty member or is a research-assistant for a TAG faculty member’s research project. Along with this, students may become a member by proposing that their work is related to TAG and that they are able to make a contribution to the centre’s research culture. In this scenario, however, it will usually be the case that students will have worked, or be working with, a TAG faculty member or on a TAG project as well as participating in TAG events for at least one term before becoming a member. All TAG faculty can request automatic membership for the students they supervise.
TAG faculty membership is normally decided by a consensus vote of the TAG executive board based on a nomination by an existing TAG faculty member. In order to be accepted as a TAG core member the faculty candidate must demonstrate interest and support for the mandate of the centre and for TAG related research and events.
Associate membership will be decided by the Director in consultation with the executive and/or advisory boards. Associate membership will usually be by invitation of the Director although any interested candidate may request consideration for associate membership.
