This 5-7 will invite attendees to participate in a playtesting of an in-progress thesis research-creation project by Master of Design student Rebecca Goodine investigating Reflective Game Design, wellness, and participatory practice.
Over the summer of 2018, Rebecca helped facilitate a series of three game making workshops where a group of participants worked to collectively design game prototypes “helping people cope with stress.” As part of a project seeking to develop better design understanding of wellness and Reflective Game Design through participatory involvement, stress was chosen as a workshop subject for both its universality and its intersectional influencing factors which require multiple problem solving angles and voices of involvement.
Asking how can we can conduct Reflective Game Design in a participatory manner when different emotions and experiences are involved, the game for public consideration at this event is intended to act as a continuation of these group problem solving sessions.
