5 Nov – TAG Speaker: Karen Collins “Interactions and Intersections: Music, Sound and Games”

Posted by saleem

On November 5th Karen Collins will be giving a talk titled “Interactions and Intersections: Music, Sound and Games” in the Hexagram Resource Room (EV 11.705) at 12pm. The talk will consist of a variety of research projects, focusing on the role sound plays in videogames.

This event will be of particular interest to anyone who was around for the Rez 5a7 where we explored the role of music in gaming and asked whether or not the developers goals of “synesthesia” were achieved. Either way, join us on Friday in welcoming Karen to TAG!

Karen Collins is an assistant professor in UW’s Department of Drama and Speech Communication and CRC in Communication and Technology at the Canadian Centre of Arts and Technology (CCAT). via Waterloo
