Montreal Mini Maker Faire 2018 Recap

Last month, Concordia University hosted the Montréal Mini Maker Faire! Co-presented by Maker Media with an organizational team drawn from the Milieux Institute for Arts, Culture and Technology and the Montréal making scene, the event was a diverse showcase of engineers, artists, scientists, and crafters. Described as a the Greatest Show (& Tell) on Earth, it celebrated the city’s rich maker scene.

Henry Jenkins at Concordia

Last night, Concordia welcomed media studies researcher and author Henry Jenkins to a room that was soon filled to capacity. In his opening remarks, Charles Acland (of the Screen Culture Research Group) listed some of Henry Jenkins’ (impressive) accomplishments, finishing off by reminding the crowd that Jenkins was, first and foremost, “a writer, looking to expand the vocabulary we use to describe media.”
