UNDER THE SEA: A CONDUCTIVE INK CHALLENGE!

Posted by Gina

TAG was invited to participate in FARNEL’s Conductive Ink Challenge. It’s a competition centered on conductive ink. If you’ve not heard of it before, it’s a way to prototype or draw circuits by hand using nickel or silver-laced “ink”. The challenge was looking for artistic use of conductive ink and components to make an eye-catching piece of art.

TAG’s new member Jessica Blanchet and Critical Hit 2014 participants Hamish Lambert, and Louis Sciannamblo took on the challenge and created UNDER THE SEA, an interactive dimensional illustration.

Using switches, sliders and buttons made of paper and conductive ink, viewers can interact with sea creatures, command a submarine and bask in the hand-painted moonlight.
