Reasoning with Computers was a poster presentation given by Joel Jordon in April 2019 at the INDI Research Exposition celebrating student research in Concordia University’s interdisciplinary individualized program. This presentation drew on a variety of philosophical debates – related to, among others, critical reasoning and self-knowledge, testimony, and inference – to explore how our reasoning gives us the capacity to shift the social norms setting the limits of what we believe it is possible to think and do, and how different uses of computers may support or hinder that capacity.
Reasoning with Computers was the winner of the People’s Choice Award at the research exposition.
