This week, for the 5 @ 7, Salvador Garcia-Martinez will be sharing the initial results from his dissertation study. His description is below:
“In short, I’m exploring how instructors in higher education use commercial video games in their courses and the learning potential of these games. More specifically I’m studying three games: Minecraft, World of Warcraft and SimCity.
For that, I’ve been interviewing instructors and collecting all types of data. This time I will like to present the results of the first case study: MINECRAFT. This is a quite innovative game that is used in many creative ways. There is enough material for having a very interesting discussion.
I will also be displaying a poster, same topic, that I will present tomorrow (Tuesday) in the SALTISE Conference that will take place in Dawson College.”
