Ask Dr. Mario! The Postdocs (TM) on coping with academic drama
Hot on the heels of her recent blog post, TAG postdoc Jen is teaming up with co-postdoc Thorsten in order to share insights into the many potential frustrations of academia and how to overcome them as a junior scholar. In short, they are going to share their embarrassing mistakes so that you don’t have to make them yourself. (We hope this gives you more time to focus on making *new* mistakes.) Issues discussed will include conferences, publishing, the role of advisers, various kinds of panic, and generally more drama than you can shake a Wii controller at. This event might be especially interesting to grad students or junior scholars, and to anyone who might be considering pursuing an MA with TAG. Of course, everybody else is welcome, too! As always, bring your own beer and a lot of questions.
