Gaming magazines archived @ Retromags.com

Posted by Dominic

A public awareness act of sorts – people interested in video game history, marketing, reception studies and wanting more generally to get a feel of the pulse that was beating when some key games were coming out will probably appreciate a website I just stumbled upon, www.retromags.com. They have tons of old issues of magazines scanned and ready for download (albeit using other file hosting services like Megaupload or Rapidshare) which you can check out on their wiki (http://www.retromags.com/wiki/Main_Page). How does Atari Age, Electronic Gaming Monthly, Game Informer, GamePro, Nintendo Power, or PSM sound like? There’s also an Advertisement Database with posters and stuff by Atari, Nintendo and Sega.

Really, it’s a place that’s worthy of a bookmark and a real gold mine for anyone remotely interested in games history.
