OCTOBER 16TH – SALON LUDIQUE

Hello, TAGsters!

For those of you who weren’t in attendance for our last 5a7, remember that this week, instead of a regular 5a7, the TAG crew will be heading down to Espace Fibre (2665, rue Augustin-Cantin, 2nd Floor) at 6pm for the first bi-monthly Salon Ludique!

“Le Salon Ludique is a new, not-for profit event series, designed to initiate and sustain a critical dialogue centered on experimental practices across artistic disciplines. Salon Ludique will feature works by both emerging and established creative practitioners in a intimate, salon style format. Each artist will showcase their work, and give a 10 to 15 minute talk about their practice. In order to facilitate interdisciplinary dialogue, Salon Ludique will showcase works in digital games, new media art, electronic art, performance, and more. Each articulation of the event will feature new configurations of art, games and performance, curated through thematic and discursive connections between the works.

Our inaugural edition of the Salon Ludique is programmed around the theme of soundscapes. More than simply a descriptor for sonic environments, this edition of SL features works where sound and landscape collide, creating interactive virtual spaces which focus on the manipulation of sound.”

This first edition of Salon Ludique will be featuring Foci+Loci’s live performance through Playstation games, Alice Effekt’s Purgateus, and Richard Flanagan’s FRACT.

If you enjoy what you see (and I’m positive that you will), then feel free to join TAGster Skot Deeming and Foci+Loci (Chris Burke and Tamara Yadao) in the TAG lab for a conversation about their work on Friday October 17th, at 2pm – the very next day!

I hope to see you all there!
