Practical Aesthetics: How to Use Art as Argument was a conference presentation given by Joel Jordon at the Different Games Conference in October 2018 at the Worcester Polytechnic Institute and at the Montreal Maker Faire in November 2018 at Concordia University. This presentation explored a pragmatic idea of art that conceives of it in terms of its social function, and in particular drew on Marxist theatre traditions like Brechtian epic theatre and Boalian theatre of the oppressed to discuss how theatre, games, and art can be used to argue effectively for radical politics.
