Ephemeral Games and Ambiguous Rights

Michael Iantorno

Published in Pause Button Issue 5: Whose User Experience? Pause Button is an online publication about technology and culture published by the Milieux Institute at Concordia University in Montreal.

Ephemeral Games and Ambiguous Rights explores issues of ownership in an increasingly digital games marketplace. Using the unauthorized World of Warcraft game server Nostalrius as a case study, the article asks "what rights do we really hold over the games we have purchased?"
