TAG’s Projects at Cinémathèque Québécoise

Posted by agustina

Last February TAG was invited to show some of our latest projects at Espace Rendez-vous – Cinémathèque Québécoise.

For this occasion, CIRCUITS by Eileen Mary Holowka, THE TRULY TERRIFIC TRAVELING TROUBLESHOOTER by Dietrich Squinkifer and Jess Marcotte and YOUR PLACE OR MINECRAFT by Gina Hara, were displayed together and shared the exhibition space at the salle Raoul-Barré with a wide variety of VR pieces. The visitors were able to experience the games, while discovering some of the subjects currently addressed by TAG’s projects and, at the same time, they were able to discuss with Eileen Mary, Jess and Gina about their work.

The event displayed a great range of narrative and digital storytelling in a variety of contexts, looking into mediated social action and the role of technology in our everyday life, as well as addressing interactivity, virtual consumerism and interface design.

Jess Marcotte tells us about the experience:  “It is such a pleasure to bring a game like The Truly Terrific Traveling Troubleshooter to a space and audience that in many ways is just starting to explore the possibilities of games, and to show a project that doesn’t look very much like the games they might be used to seeing advertised”.
