GAMERella 2020

This year, we’re bringing it online! GAMERella is the world’s longest running inclusive game jam. Free, learner-friendly and supportive!

Every year, GAMERella provides a supportive and fun environment for first-time game makers, with workshops, team making sessions, industry mentors, all for free! This November, we’ve adapted to tough times, so jammers worldwide can participate and create from their own home.

GAMERella is honoured to present this year’s keynote speaker Dr. Kishonna Gray, who has been a driving force for equality within the games community, through both her research and outreach work, and will no doubt inspire this year’s online jammers.

Many people still feel intimidated by the gaming scene and find it difficult to participate in events like game jams. In 2013, GAMERella was conceived at Concordia University to welcome people who are often marginalized in game-related spaces. We believe that GAMERella is a place to improve skills, try risky and unconventional game design ideas, make friends and industry contacts, and above all, have fun.
